This includes providing research, educational, internship and networking opportunities for graduate and undergraduate students interested in pursuing careers with a focus on women’s health and wellness, as well as more informal activities simply to build community.

VOLUNTEER FOR THE AGHG SPRING BREAK CAMP (2025)

This past spring, our initiative, Active Girls-Healthy Girls (AGHG), held its first-ever spring break camp, which was a resounding success. Our mission is to introduce girls to non-traditional physical activities and equip them with the knowledge and confidence to develop healthy habits.

During the camp, participants and counselors enjoyed activities such as dance, pickleball, yoga, frisbee, and more. They also heard from community and university leaders on various health topics.

Does this sound fun or interesting to you? Do you have a physical activity you’d love to teach? We need volunteers for this year’s camp, which runs from April 14th to 18th, 2025.

We are looking for camp counselors, activity leaders, speakers, a photographer/videographer, a social media coordinator, and camp organizers.

If you’re interested in volunteering, please email us at cwhw@uncg.edu

INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

CWHW welcomes both graduate and undergraduate UNCG student interns interested in learning more about women’s health and wellness, and applying that knowledge by engaging in Center activities. Internships in CWHW can take many forms.

Some internships are departmentally based and are a part of a degree program, where other internships are the result of professional, self-directed interest. CWHW offers limited internship opportunities for the fall and spring semesters.

Here are some examples of potential internship opportunities that align with our strategic initiatives:

INDEPENDENT STUDY

Independent studies offer students the opportunity to conduct research or other independent work under the direction of a CWHW faculty member. Independent study projects are driven by the student, and proposed plans must align with current Center research goals or strategic initiatives and be approved by the supervising faculty member.

If you have an idea for a project, please contact the CWHW Team Member you are interested in working with to discuss your idea.

FUN, FOOD AND FELLOWSHIP

Throughout the academic year, CWHW will offer networking opportunities for students to network with faculty and to engage in activities related to women’s health and wellness. This includes events like our women’s networking lunches during our Fall Lecture Series and Spring Research Forum. Please check back often for updates here and under Events, and follow us on Instagram.
