Multilevel Models of Intersectional Inequities: Introducing MAIHDA and Reimagining Multilevel Methods for Health Inequities Research and Beyond.

On Friday, September 20th, we were honored to host Dr. Clare R. Evans from the University of Oregon for an insightful lecture on “Multilevel Models of Intersectional Inequities: Introducing MAIHDA and Reimagining Multilevel Methods for Health Inequities Research and Beyond.” Dr. Evans introduced MAIHDA (multilevel analysis of individual heterogeneity and discriminatory accuracy), providing attendees with a comprehensive overview of this recently developed method for evaluating health inequities through an intersectional lens.

Participants, both in-person and online, had the opportunity to engage in stimulating discussions on how MAIHDA can be applied to their own research. The lecture attracted scholars from various disciplines, and they all looked eager to try this method in their work.

Following the lecture, attendees enjoyed a women’s networking lunch, facilitated by Sherine Ober, the new Vice Chancellor for Research. This was a fantastic opportunity for exchanging ideas and forging new collaborations.

Thank you to everyone who joined us, both in-person and virtually! Stay tuned for future events.
