In 2025, the Center for Women’s Health and Wellness, in collaboration with the HHS Office of Research, is hosting its 5th annual Research Forum to showcase scholarly work relevant to women’s health and wellness at UNCG.

This in-person event will take place on Friday, February 28, 2025, in the Nursing Instructional Building (NIB) Room 510. We have identified an amazing keynote speaker, Dr. Lisa Bowleg, who directs the Intersectionality Training Institute. She will give a keynote presentation about her own research: “Intersectionality: An Indispensable Critical Framework for Qualitative Equity Research”. Dr. Bowleg will also lead a 2-hour workshop titled “The 5 Most Important Things Health Equity Researchers Need to Know About Doing Qualitative Intersectionality Research”.

We also plan to showcase research from across the university through flash talks with an emphasis on research that informs the health and wellness of girls and women broadly. We encourage faculty, staff, and students who are interested in presenting their work to submit an abstract. A goal of the research forum this year is to highlight qualitative research; however, we welcome both qualitative and quantitative research presentations

For those interested in presenting an abstract, please visit the Abstract Submission page for more details on how to submit your data to present at this upcoming event!
