SUMMARY:Winter Paper Chase hosted by the CWHWxHHS Office of Research
DESCRIPTION:The Center for Women’s Health and Wellness and the HHS Office of Research invite you to join our upcoming Paper Chase — a fast-paced\, collaborative writing program that helps faculty interested in building a history of collaboration produce a manuscript together. We also encourage faculty to involve students (graduate and/or undergraduate) in their team to provide them with invaluable experience and training related to writing research manuscripts. Participants will work with their own teams to rapidly develop and submit a publishable manuscript within the span of three days alongside several other writing teams. The Paper Chase catalyzes the speed of the writing process\, enhances team mentorship\, and increases collaboration across all parts of the writing process.  \nWe plan to accept three teams for the Paper Chase Event\, please see more information below.  \nWho: UNCG research teams aiming to establish a collaboration history together (6 members\, minimally one of which must be an HHS faculty member) who have unpublished research findings to disseminate. At least one of the three accepted teams must have a project focused on women’s health and wellness\, which can include those that look at differences between genders/sexes or those focused exclusively on girls/women.   \nWhen: On-campus writing event December 15–17\, 2025 (9am-5pm each day; lunch provided). Online training (3-5 hours) to prepare for the Paper Chase in Fall 2025.  \nWhere: Participants need to be in-person on campus for the entire 3-day writing period.  \nApplications due September 29th at 11:59pm  \nWe plan to hold an information session in September to provide more information about the paper chase. If you would like to be considered for the Paper Chase Event\, please complete the application. Please reach out to the Center for Women’s Health and Wellness (cwhw@uncg.edu) with any questions or concerns you may have.

SUMMARY:5th Spring Research Forum
DESCRIPTION:  \nThe Center for Women’s Health and Wellness and HHS Office of Research are co-hosting the 5th annual Research Forum to showcase scholarly work relevant to women’s health and wellness at UNCG. \n\n\n\nThis in-person event will take place on Friday\, February 28\, 2025\, in the Nursing Instructional Building room 510. We have identified an amazing keynote speaker\, Dr. Lisa Bowleg\, director of the Intersectionality Training Institute. She will give a keynote presentation about her own research: “Intersectionality: An Indispensable Critical Framework for Qualitative Equity Research”. Dr. Bowleg will also lead a 2-hour workshop titled “The 5 Most Important Things Health Equity Researchers Need to Know About Doing Qualitative Intersectionality Research”. \n\n\n\nThe forum will also include flash talks to highlight research from across the university. Submissions should include research that informs the health and wellness of girls and women broadly. We welcome all submissions that address issues applicable or relevant to women’s physical or mental health. A goal of the research forum this year is to highlight qualitative research; however\, we welcome both qualitative and quantitative research presentations (ABSTRACT SUBMISSIONS ARE CLOSED). \n\n\n\n\n\n\nREGISTER HERE!
